Architextures & Moiré Patterns

books

Rooms is an interesting site to create spaces. It reminds me of mixtures between terrariums and legos, where static pixels can also become living documents of knowledge. I started with books and libraries but then continued to work on exploring organic forms, architextures, and moiré patterns.

When an idea that I particularly like is found it feels like the lights from the heavens opens up and I just want to explore further. I found the moiré effect by playing with my first design in rooms. However I've always been intrigued with these patterns since my first job at a fabric store and learning about different cloths. Moiré again became a subject of interest in computer art working with technology patterns. It's French for a watered effect but I also see it like Roman glass and other textures. I'll be working with this beautifully intangible language for a while both on and offline.

My ideal studio is both digital and nondigital. I'll be using both new and traditional methods of note taking and meetings, such as the Action Method products and digital office environments beyond Zoom
